Indie-licious blog hop

Anyway, since it was short I made it into a picture teaser. And the project is no longer untitled. I haven't made it to the 30k mark where I said I would announce it, but just for a sneak peek for those of you who stop by, the title of the new book will be Supernova.

Indilicious Blog Hop Teaser

This week my teaser is a little longer, so you'll have to forgive me, but I really wanted to share this. It's from my new book, still untitled.

Before long we were settling onto faux leather couches with caffeinated heaven in a cup. I’d scarcely set my coffee down when I saw a familiar face come through the door. I ran across to him, jumping to wrap my arms around his neck, my legs around his waist. Dominic gave me a scorching kiss, the kind that made my toes curl. As he set me back on my feet, I turned to find the others staring at me, their jaws agape.
“Girls, this is Dominic. This is Cleo and Charlotte.”
“I promise I’m not some creeper who lucked out.” He grinned, throwing an arm around my shoulder and pulling me tight. I smiled at him as we settled onto a couch.
“Dominic and I have been together since the third grade.” Noticing some lip gloss smeared on his lips, I reached up to wipe it away with my thumb.
His rich chuckle sent a wave of heat through me. “We used to hold hands under the library table.”
Charlotte looked at Cleo and pretended to stick her finger down her throat with a wink. Cleo just raised one eyebrow at us. “As long as you don’t start finishing each other’s sentences, he can stay.”

I'm proud to be part of Morgan Wylie's cover reveal. I think it's gorgeous, sounds amazing and I want!

I'm soooo EXCITED to be able to share the cover of my novel Silent Orchids, book one in The Age of Alandria series!!!!! The cover design was the collaborative genius of Phatpuppy Art and The Bookish Brunette.

ABOUT SILENT ORCHIDS:
A dying realm.

The ancient evil of the Droch-ShĂșil has been unleashed.

The Orchids have been silenced… but for how long?

Daegan, elite of the Ferrishyn warrior tribe of Faeries, is charged with a mission to find the Sol-lumieth, a mysterious new power that could change the fate of all in the realm of Alandria. But he is conflicted by his purpose, and he cannot trust the motives of those he serves. He has too many questions and they must be answered.

Kaeleigh, a girl abandoned as a small child just outside Missoula, Montana, is now 18. She is trying to discover who she is and where she belongs. In her heart, she feels she has family out there… somewhere. Desperate to unravel the mysteries of her past, she embarks on a journey that will forever change her along with her two best friends, Finn and Chel—who have secrets of their own.

ABOUT MORGAN WYLIE:
Morgan Wylie has been writing on and off throughout her growing up years, but started seriously working on her first novel in the Spring of 2009. 7 months pregnant with her first child, she didn't start off with a lot of focused writing time. But Morgan had an epiphany, if you will, and the story flashed before her so she began to write. And she’s still writing. Her debut Young Adult fantasy, SILENT ORCHIDS, will be out this summer.

Dreamscape cover reveal

This week I'm so very proud to be part of Christie Rich's cover reveal for her newest book, Dreamscape.

How gorgeous is that? I'm definately intrigued and we haven't even talked blurb yet.

Blurb:
Every night before Amelia falls asleep she makes a wish to dream of him – the man who calls her to their beautiful private oasis, her sanctuary where she is free of her greedy landlord’s threats. But tonight, he will not call Amelia to him. Tonight, another man will step into her world to claim her. Tonight, Amelia’s shattering reality will crumble - and disappear into the Dreamscape…along with her freedom.

When Amelia dreams tonight, her nightmare becomes her new world where Seth is her captor and anything is possible…except escape. Seth needs Amelia to break the curse that binds him to the Dreamscape. He must convince her that she was made to free him, that she was made to join him.

For if he fails, he will never escape his prison, and he will lose Earth to the Netherworld where the evil Erobos wait to consume the human realm and everything in it. If he fails, Seth will lose the one thing that matters to him: Amelia.

I know, it sounds good. I'm ready are you? If you wanna know more, you'll have to stalk... er I mean find Christie at her sites.

Biography

I grew up daydreaming about fairytales, and my love for discovering new worlds has never died. I am not one of those writers who always knew I would write. I thought that was what other people did until one day a few years ago, I took a challenge from a friend and typed my first words. My journey has been wonderful, and I cannot imagine a day where I would ever give up writing. My love for reading is what fueled my imagination in the first place and still does. When I am not writing or reading, I am enjoying family time with my husband and two children. I also dabble in painting but writing has taken over my creative time right now. I hope to get back to it at some point in my life, but I'm not sure when I'll have time for it. My family and I live in a quiet community in Northern Utah, and I am so thankful for the rich life I have been blessed with.

I also gotta take a second to give mad props to the amazing cover artist who created this beauty, Amber McNemar. Great work, Amber.

Gavin Clearwater of Into the Spiral ~ Character Monday

I'd like to welcome this week Gavin, from Erin Danzer's Into the Spiral

Ok, to get things started, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Gavin Clearwater. I’m 19 and a Lieutenant for the Spiral Defenders, which is a group of warriors who travel through the In Between (essentially, a cross between space and the Faeries’ Veil) to defend the planets of the Spiral. I’m also the queen’s godson. I love my parents. I have two older sisters and a younger brother. And my best friend is a green elf named Kennet.

What makes you tick? What made you who you are today?
I wanted to be a Spiral Defender since I knew what it meant to be one. My dad used to be one, before he became captain of the Royal Guard. I guess it was just instilled in me early on. Upholding the motto of Loyalty, Sovereignty, and Protection of the Common Good is what I strive for every day.

What would you say is your greatest strength?
My loyalty… and fierceness with a sword. There’s a reason they call me a Weapons Master.

Tell me about the person you’re the closest to.
That would be my mom and dad, equally. I hope that’s not lame. We’re a close knit family and I love them dearly. Like I said before, I’ve looked up to my dad my entire life. My mom is actually from Greece; she came to live with my dad in Kalearnia (part of the Spiral) after they met and fell in love during the last recruiting mission to Earth more than 20 years ago. She’s the bravest person I know. My parents’ love is what holds our family together. I hope to have what they have some day.

How do you feel about your life as it is today?
Life is good right now, especially now that I’ve met Ronnie. Granted, the turmoil around the Spiral is getting worse, and there’s a war on the horizon. Still, as soon as Ronnie gets settled into her new lot in life, I’m sure things will continue looking up.

What is the most rewarding thing in your life right now?
Having friends and family who love me. I know, kind of lame. But without them, where would any of us be? If I didn’t have people surrounding me who love me and support me, I would have nothing.

What is your favorite memory?
I have so many. My most recent favorite memory would be when I first saw Ronnie at school. She wouldn’t agree considering she yelled at me, but I’m determined to change her mind on that.

What do you like to do for fun?
Lately, I haven’t had much time for fun, but when I do get a few minutes, I like to read Manga (I blame Ronnie’s best friend, Andi, for this new obsession) or I’ll play with my little brother, Brendan, though that usually turns into sparring now that he’s also training to be a Spiral Defender.

What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?
*grins* Ronnie first thing in the morning. Not because of that. Because she asked me to stay since she was home alone and the wraiths kept attacking her. She’s her most beautiful when she first wakes up, her long dark hair all disheveled, her eyes still sleepy. Again, I don’t think she would agree with me, but there it is.

What is your favorite feature in the opposite sex?
Her smile, her bravery, her loyalty.

What kind of music do you like to listen to?
Other than whatever the fairies play at a royal ball, I don’t usually listen to music.

What is your favorite word?
Love. It’s what binds the Spiral together and the glue that holds families together. It truly is the one thing that makes the Spiral go ‘round.

What is your least favorite word?
Deception. Deceit breads disloyalty and shatters relationships. It’s the one thing that could destroy everything I work so hard to defend.

What sound or noise do you love?
*blushes* My name on Ronnie’s lips.

What sound or noise do you hate?
The grunts and growls of gremlins and goblins coming near.

What profession (other than your own) would you like to attempt?
I would open a bookstore and stock it with all of Ronnie’s favorite books. It’s what would make her happy.

What profession would you not like to do?
Cleaning toilets. I don’t think I could ever do that professionally. I had a hard enough time having to do it as a chore growing up.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
First of all, I have to say that I don’t believe as Christians do, but I hope that when I die, the Great Father and Mother will welcome me into their arms, tell me I’ve done all I’m supposed to do, and I can continue my next life in the fashion that I choose instead of only what they have planned out for me.

Want to learn a little more about Gavin? You can find him in Erin Danzer's "Into the Spiral.

Fifteen-year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Lambert wants to get out from under her older brother’s shadow. When Ronnie gets a tattoo and then is struck by lightning, she suddenly finds herself able to see and hear things in shadows that don’t appear to others. Then Ronnie meets Gavin Clearwater, the hot new guy in all of her classes and finds out he can see and hear the same things she can.

Gavin tells her about the Spiral Defenders, a group of warriors that travels through space and time to defend the planets of the Spiral. After meeting the Commander of the Spiral Defenders and realizing his intentions might not be pure, Ronnie struggles between following her destiny to become a Spiral Defender and trying to regain the life she had before being struck by lightning.

You can buy it for Kindle, Nooke, iTunes, or other formats.

Indilicious Blog hop Teaser

This week's teaser comes again from my new (still) unnamed project.

“Aren’t all Skin Walkers wolves?”

Antonio latched onto the topic the way a drowning man grabs a life preserver. “Not necessarily. It’s just a matter of what animal is your spirit guide. I can’t help it if mine’s a wolf.” The look he shot me made me think he’d stick his tongue out at me any moment.

“How are you different from a shifter?”

A smirk twisted up the corner of my brother’s mouth. “I’m far more awesome.”

Intrigued? Want some more? You'll have to wait a while for mine, but check out all the amazing talent on the hop.

Zachariah Character Interview ~ Firstborn Trilogy by Raine Thomas ~ Character Monday

Today I’d like to welcome Zachariah for Raine Thomas’s Firstborn Trilogy. This might be the funniest of these interviews so far. J

Ok, to get things started, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.

This is Raine speaking here. Zachariah refused to give a bio, so I’ll mention that he’s one of the central characters in my Firstborn Trilogy. Although he’s many centuries in age because he’s an Estilorian, he looks no more than twenty-two human years old. He’s generally grouchy, antisocial, stubborn and bossy…and he can kick some serious ass. My readers find him to be the hottest male character in all of my Estilorian books.

What makes you tick? What made you who you are today?
What am I, a bloody clock? I don’t “tick.” What made me who I am today is an act I don’t care to remember. Let’s just say that it took the Orculesti elder to pry it out of my brain after I fought to suppress it for fifty years.

What would you say is your greatest strength?
Revealing my strengths to people I don’t know only leaves me vulnerable to possible attack. Next question.

Tell me about the person you’re the closest to.
*frowns* Why do you want to know?

Raine here…Zachariah is very protective of Tate and Nyx, those who are closest to him. Tate is an eighteen-year-old Kynzesti female he meets in Defy. They’re brought together by Zachariah’s kragen companion, Nyx, and share many adventures together. Tate is far more free-spirited and lively than Zachariah, traits he clearly needs in his life. *stares pointedly at Zachariah*

How do you feel about your life as it is today?
It’s chaotic. Things were much less stressful when it was just me and Nyx. Those days are gone, however.

What is the most rewarding thing in your life right now?
*shrugs* I enjoy teaching others to defend themselves.

What is your favorite memory?
I’ve been alive for more than two millennia, so take your pick. I’d say it was meeting Tate, but I was more annoyed than pleased. I suppose it worked out in the end.

What’s Your Worst?
You can refer to the question about what made me who I am today. It isn’t a memory I care to share…though Raine had no such qualms when she wrote Defy.

What do you like to do for fun?
It usually involves kissing Tate or challenging her twin brother to a training session.

What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?
Raine here…Zachariah just gave me a serious glare. He won’t say as much, but I know it’s Tate’s smile.

What is your favorite feature in the opposite sex?
An open mind.

What kind of music do you like to listen to?
Most music on the Estilorian plane sounds similar to me. We don’t have electronic equipment like you humans do.

What is your favorite word?
Sparky (when Tate uses it to address me).

What is your least favorite word?
Sparky (when anyone else uses it to address me).

What turns you on?
That’s for Tate to know. Why would anyone share this with strangers?

What turns you off?
Apparently, interviews.

What sound or noise do you love?
*rolls eyes* Tate’s laugh.

What sound or noise do you hate?
Weeping…   from   anyone.

What is your favorite curse word?
Bloody hell.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
I’m sure I’ve missed my shot at Heaven. I’ll leave that to all of you.

Want to learn about the past Zachariah wouldn’t share? Check out the Firstborn Trilogy

 Defy

Seventeen-year-old Tate is about to make her parents’ dreams come true. Unfortunately for her, their dreams foretell her death.

Eager to explore more of the Estilorian plane and prove her abilities, Tate goes against her parents’ wishes and leaves the area of protection surrounding her home. Her choice puts her on a deadly path…one that leaves her alone, severely injured and battling for her life.

Her possible savior arrives in the form of Zachariah, a male who has removed himself from Estilorian society for more than fifty years. Fighting an unexpected connection to Tate, he must decide whether saving her life is worth destroying his.

As Tate struggles to find a way home, she ends up drawn into a dark Mercesti plot involving multiple murders and a powerful ancient artifact. With the unpredictable Zachariah as her only source for aid, she’ll soon find out if her abilities are strong enough to help her defy her Fate.

You can buy Defy at Amazon, B&N, Kobo and Smashwords. Don’t forget to add it to your shelves on Goodreads.

Shift

Having the ability to shapeshift, Sophia is familiar with change. But even she feels the rising tension in her homeland.

A shadowy male and deadly beast reside in their midst. The births of the newest Kynzesti loom. Hostile Mercesti continue to hunt for the Elder Scroll, and a traumatized female is too afraid to use her abilities to stop them.

Topping off Sophia’s stress is Quincy, the male she’s convinced can’t stand her. She rues the loss of their friendship, but can’t figure out how to move past it. She’ll soon learn, however, that mending that rift bears more significance than she ever imagined.

The search for the Elder Scroll takes on unexpected urgency, and Sophia finds herself in a race across the mainland. To stop the Mercesti led by Eirik, she and her companions must get past their differences and unite against them. If they don’t, Eirik will acquire the immense power he seeks, and two of the beings Sophia loves most will die.

Shift is available at Amazon, B&N and Smashwords. You can also find it on Goodreads.

Elder

Clara Kate is one of the eight beings needed to activate the Elder Scroll, an ancient artifact causing tragedy and darkness on the Estilorian plane. She knows that her focus needs to be on finding the final piece and stopping the evil Mercesti, but Ini-herit isn't making it easy.

He’s working closely with Clara Kate on the quest to stop their enemies…too close for her comfort. His presence serves as a constant reminder of the love they shared on the human plane, a love that he no longer remembers at all.

Her life and the lives of those she loves are at risk, and she knows she has to put aside her personal problems. So far on their journey, she's endured heartbreak, terror, pain and loss. She’s even been brought to the brink of death.

She thinks things can't get any worse.

She's wrong.

Look for Elder on Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, and feel free to add it on Goodreads.

Indie-licious Blog Hop Teaser

"You know I try not to get involved with you and Nate. He's my best friend, you're my little sister. But at the risk of spontaneously growing ovaries, here goes. I think you need to examine what these guys mean to you. I think it's time to get off that fence and make a decision. Besides, the pickets leave unsightly welts in your backside."
