I learned to read at a very early age. I was always telling stories, so it came as no surprise to my family that as soon as I learned how to write, I started writing stories. My first attempt was a book titled "The Mystery of the Twisted Lane". It featured three characters: the corpse, the detective and the killer. It was a little easy to figure out who did it, but it also showed a gift for description and character development. From that point on there was no stopping me. I have begun many novels, and eventually abandoned them. The difference this time has got to be HP Mallory and the fabulous group of writers she invited me to join. Without their support and encouragement I probably would have given everything up long ago.
Aside from writing I am also an artist. I wasn't always into art, but it has been a passion for a while. I was nineteen, sitting in a parking lot staring at a building buried in snow when I suddenly understood how to capture the play of light and shadows on paper. I dabbled over the years, toying with sketching, acrylic paint, Prismacolor pencils and markers. It wasn't until I discovered Photoshop that I truly began to spread my artistic wings. When I realized I was serious about Natural Selection, I decided to try my hand at making my own cover. I got such rave reviews on it, it wasn't long before other authors asked for my assistance. Soon after that I started 4Corners Press with a group of wonderful ladies. If you're looking for cover art, check out the Sharp Covers tab.
Outside of writing and art, I am a self-proclaimed technogeek. I love cell phones, computers, tablets... The internet has to be the greatest invention since the wheel in my opinion. I live in a quiet subdivision with my husband, three cats, and far too many electronics. I have a near crippling Facebook addiction, dwarfed only by my addiction to Dr. Pepper. I enjoy making my own jewelry, and I like to sew costumes. I've always loved Halloween because it's the one day of the year that I can be what ever I want. I love all things bright and colorful, as you can probably tell by my page!
