Follow Friday again!

Welcome to the Writer’s Follow Friday Blog Hop! Not sure if you qualify? If you have a blog to add, guess what, you’re a writer! So check out the rules, grab the link and join the hop! We’re small for now, but we hope to continue to grow.

This week’s question:
Inspired by the spectacular melt down of Jacqueline Howett on Big Al’s Book Blog, how do you deal with a bad review?

Please join in in welcoming Nichole Chase from Nichole Chase  with this week’s answer.
I haven't officially published any of my works yet, but I hope that I would handle a bad review with grace. I think that the only appropriate way to respond to a review is to say thank you, and in most cases only in a private forum (email, or private message). Bad reviews hurt, even if they are handled in a professional manner. The hurt the author experiences should be kept private, and only shared with friends. Eat some chocolate cake, and watch a good movie- That is how I would handle a bad review. Probably shed a few tears to my friends or my husband, and then move on! You can always get better!

How do you join in the fun? So glad you asked. It’s really quite simple.

The rules

  3. Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for such a wonderful opportunity. Since I re-launched my blog at the beginning of March my audience has grown by leaps and bounds compared to my original "three" followers, but I am always looking for ways to invite more friends to join in the writer's journey. Great idea! - Lindy

  4. I can't hop around links which are seemingly invisible. Those pesky Gremlins. I do LOATHE them - every week I encounter one on my blessed blog. At least it's not just me. ;D

Anyway, do let me know when it's fixed. I'll come back and follow the other peeps then. For now I'll take my queue form the comments section.

Intro: I'm shah from wordsinsync.blogspot.com. I'm writing my first novel:paranormal/fantasy. Plus poetry and short stories. Love to read too. Stop by, look around, love it if you could fill in my poll too. If you like it, follow. I'll do the same for you.

  7. Man, I read the original meltdown train wreck that inspired this thread and let's all join virtual hands and promise we won't ever do that, okay? Thanks to all for stopping by and I've really enjoyed reading you all's. Have a super weekend! http://fateandfaith-julee.blogspot.com/2011/04/back-sliding-and-follow-friday.html

  8. Hello again! I figure I'll be too busy banging out my next project to worry overmuch about what one reviewer says. Now if it's more than one reviewer saying it I'll probably try and figure out how to fix my writing.

I do make a distinction, though, between a bad review and a negative review. Big Al's review was, in my opinion, actually a good one!

  10. Hello, I'm new to blogging but have been writing since I was about ten, mostly science-fiction, fantasy, and political thrillers. I found you on Nadja Notariani's page, and will be networking as much I can to meet other authors, and to get myself more out there too.~Julius
